The final event of the AI for Inclusion Hackathon will take place on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, Politecnico di Milano.
AI for Inclusion is an idea-generating marathon in which developers and creatives come together in teams and, with the help of expert mentors, develop prototype projects focused on accessibility and inclusion. The key theme of the hackathon is accessibility, which will be developed either by focusing on specific strands (hearing, vision, mobility, neurodiversity, learning, and mental health) or in a cross-disability logic.
Participating projects will be judged by a panel of experts with cross-disciplinary technical expertise, which includes Prof. Maristella Matera from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, Politecnico di Milano.
The winners of the hackathon will be announced at the closing event on May 30 and they will pitch their project ideas.
The day will be divided into three sessions, which will cover the following topics
- the importance of awareness and the adoption of the technology, especially the already available ones
- the impact of generative AI on the services design
- the implementation of inclusive solutions for customers and citizens.
Associazione Italiana Dislessia, Ente Nazionale Sordi, Fondazione ASPHI, Unione Italiana dei Ciechi e degli Ipovedenti and Microsoft are involved in the organization of the marathon.
