The Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria is one of the largest European ICT departments, both for its dimensions and for the quality of its research activity.
DEIB’s activities end up involving more than 900 professionals, which makes our Department able to deal with an ever-growing variety of intellectual challenges.
The DEIB has always been able to attract projects and investments, from both public institutions and private companies, at the national and international level. Stefano Ceri and Carlo Ghezzi in 2008, Daniele Ielmini in 2015, and Stefano Ceri in 2016 have been awarded two prestigious European Research Council (ERC) recognitions (Advanced Grant for Ceri and Ghezzi and Consolidator Grant for Ielmini), passing harsh selections.
The scientific production of DEIB is very high. DEIB’s researchers publish their works in the proceedings of numerous international conferences and on major international journals.
DEIB’s research environment also includes several spin-offs and DEIB school members hold ICT courses for all the Schools of the Politecnico di Milano.
