On Friday 13 December 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the award ceremony of the 2024 Emilio Gatti & Franco Manfredi Ph.D. Award will take place in the ‘Emilio Gatti’ Conference Room of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering – Politecnico di Milano (Building 20).
The prize is awarded annually by the Italian Chapter of the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Science Society to distinguished young scientists who have completed their Ph.D. with a thesis in the field of radiation instrumentation for fundamental and applied research.
The ceremony will be chaired by Prof. Marco Carminati from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering – Politecnico di Milano and will host speeches by Prof. Daniele Passeri (University of Perugia) and Prof. Marta Bagatin (University of Padua), titled, respectively, ‘TCAD Simulations: An Insight Instrument for Radiation Detectors’, and ‘3D NAND Flash Memory: From Mass Storage Solution to Radiation Detector’.
The event will end with a speech by the awardee Thomas Corradino (University of Trento), who will present the winning thesis titled ‘Development of Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors for Radiation Imaging’.
The ceremony will be preceded by a light lunch that will take place at 12:30 p.m. in room BIO 1 (Building 21).
