Web Models (http://www.webratio.com) was founded in October 2001 by three graduates and two Professors of Politecnico di Milano. The core business of the company, now become WebRatio, is the development of innovative software tools: WebRatio, for creating and maintaining Web applications via a simple visual language and automatic code generators; and WebRatio BPM, for designing Business Process Models with the BPMN notation and automatically generating Web applications supporting the processes. These products are the commercial and industrial outcome of an international patent on a visual language for modelling Web applications (called WebML), owned by the Politecnico di Milano and developed at DEI and at the Como Campus. Today, WebRatio works with national and international customers and is present in three countries: Milan (Italy), San Francisco (USA) and Cuenca (Ecuador).
