ADDApt is a Regione Lombardia project aimed at developing soft and hard water management strategies at the river basin scale and evaluate their contribution towards building drought-resilient communities, with high adaptation capacity to climate, socio-economics and technological changes.

The project delivers: 

• participatory management and coordination schemes
• a framework for the identification of the sources of vulnerability in the hydrological system
• an integrated physical-decision model capable of representing the system dynamic in response to exogenous changes and its adaptation strategies
• a long-term hydroclimatic forecasting framework for early drought detection
• a set of optimal planning and management alternatives, including the definition of climate adaptive-conflict minimizing normative constraints for water regulation

Lasting two years, the project is expected to contribute regional water management through the implementation of sustainable control strategies, the minimization of conflicts among stakeholders, and the development of decision and analytics tools for the definition of shared governance pathways.
