Born in Milano, Italy, on November 6th, 1965. Since 2011 he is Full Professor of Electronics at the Department of ELectronics and Computer Science of Politecnico di Milano. From 1998 to 2010 he was Associate Professor of Electronics. Since 1993, when he got appointed as Assistant Professor, he is on a tenure track and gives courses in the Bachelor and Master degrees of Electronic Engineering and also in Biomedical Engineering. He got the Master degree in Electronic Engineering (1989) and Ph.D. in Electronics and Communications (1993) from Politecnico di Milano, Italy. In 1994 he was a visiting scientist at the National Microelectronic Research Centre, University College Cork, and at the Physics Department of the University College Galway, Ireland. His main interests are the design of photodetector's array imagers and related electronics for high sensitive single-photon 2D imaging and 3D "depth" ranging and the application of single-photon detection techniques in Safety and Security imaging, Adaptive Optics applications, non-invasive VLSI integrated circuit investigation and testing, and molecular imaging. He is coauthor of three Patents on Single-Photon Avalanche Diodes and related Active-Quenching Circuits. He is author of text books and exercise books about "Electronics" and "Electronic Systems" published by Esculapio (www.editrice-esculapio.it). He is in charge of the organisation and supervision of the Stages for students and of Foreign students in Electronic Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano.
