Marco Tagliasacchi, born in 1978, received the M.Sc. degree (2002, with honors) in Computer Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano. In 2006 he received the Ph.D. in Information Technology Engineering also from the Politecnico di Milano, with the thesis titled "Advanced Scalable Video Coding Techniques".
From January 2004 to July 2004 he was visiting researcher at the University of California at Berkeley, USA, where he worked on distributed video coding. From April 2006 to December 2006 he was post-doc at the "Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione" of the Politecnico di Milano. Since February 2007 he has joined the same department as an Assistant Professor.
His research interests include video coding (distributed, scalable, robust video coding) and localization/tracking of acoustic sources.
