PoliMi, the only university participating in the first submission of MLPerf
2019 - VITALI EMANUELE
MLPerf (mlperf.org) is a collaborative project whose mission is to create the first benchmark suite to measure performance, both in training and inference, of hardware, software and Machine Learning services, with a target ranging from systems embedded in cloud and high performance platforms.
Politecnico di Milano was found to be the only university among the bodies involved in the first submission in the inference section. Emanuele Vitali, PhD student at the Politecnico di Milano, has helped prepare part of the results submitted during his internship at Dividiti (Cambridge, UK).
The work was funded by the HiPEAC European Network of Excellence with a grant of collaboration entitled "Autotuning in object detection models". MLPerf involves the main players in the sector, including Google, Intel, NVIDIA, Facebook, Microsoft and Baidu.
