Four major sources of funding support our research projects:
- The European Community, with its Frameworks and Programs for basic and applied research. The DEIB has been actively involved in such activities since the very First Framework Program, and many DEIB members contribute as domain experts to the definition of the EU strategic research agenda.
- The Italian Government and the Public Administrations, at the central and the local level. The DEIB has a long tradition of collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Education, with the Italian Ministry of the Industry, with the Lombardia local government, and with the Municipal Administration and the Chamber of Commerce of the cities that host the Politecnico’s Campuses.
- National and international Companies, both large enterprises and small medium businesses, which are often reached through the mediation of Industrial Associations.
- The international public administration, for example the recent collaboration with ESA and NASA.
