Sommario

On April 23rd, 2026, at 3:30 pm Valeria Maria Fortina, PHD Student in Information Technology, will give a seminar on "Data Mesh: Challenges and Governance (SummerSOC 2025)" in DEIB, PT2 Meeting Room (Building 20A).

Data Mesh is a socio-technical approach that has transformed the way data are managed within organizations and in federated ecosystems. This seminar provides an introduction to the Data Mesh paradigm and presents two research tracks developed within the 19th Symposium and Summer School on Service-Oriented Computing (SummerSOC 2025). The first study investigates the state of the art, key challenges, and research gaps of Data Mesh through a systematic literature review complemented by interviews with domain experts. The second contribution builds on the principle of computational governance in Data Mesh and proposes a decentralized approach to inter-organizational data sharing. This approach extends the Data Mesh governance model to address the additional requirements of inter-organizational collaboration, enabling the verification of data contracts across organizational boundaries.
