From February 5 to 16, 2024 in Maputo, Mozambique, at the Eduardo Mondlane University, the third edition of the Summer School, which was part of the ICT4Dev project, funded under an agreement between the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and the Politecnico di Milano, took place.
Four of the planned courses were delivered by the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering: one on cybersecurity, taught by Alessandro Bertani, Ph.D. candidate in Information Technology; one on classical artificial intelligence, taught by Prof. Francesco Amigoni; one on image analysis and computer vision, taught by Prof. Giacomo Boracchi; and one on web development, taught by Prof. Luciano Baresi.
As always, the experience was interesting and challenging from a technical point of view but also rich in interpersonal relationships and memories. Through these courses, the Summer School trained more than 200 students from Eduardo Mondlane University, a project partner, and other universities in the area.
The ICT4Dev project, coordinated by Prof. Luciano Baresi, aims to train students, teachers and researchers in the ICT sector to foster social and economic development in the African country and will end in May 2025.
