On Thursday, December 14, 2023, a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, which was established ten years ago with the merger of the Department of Electronics and Information with the Department of Bioengineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering, was held at the Politecnico di Milano.
During the evening, Department Chair Sergio Matteo Savaresi, in addition to reviewing the milestones that marked DEIB's history and recalling the most important achievements in the past decade, also turned his attention to the challenges that await DEIB in the future to consolidate its position, both in Italy and worldwide, and to create an even more efficient and welcoming institution to all its stakeholders: students, doctoral students, fellows, researchers, faculty, technical-administrative staff, other universities, businesses and local communities.
The traditional speech dedicated the work done in the last year – in which the fundamental contributions of the ten delegates Andrea Aliverti, Renato Casagrandi, Matteo Cesana, Nicoletta Di Blas, Lorenzo Fagiano, Luca Mottola, Luigi Piegari, Manuel Roveri, Mara Tanelli and Alberto Tosi emerged, as well as that of section coordinators Paolo Rocco, Alberto Redaelli, Michele Norgia, Carlo Fiorini, Cristina Silvano and Stefano Tubaro – was followed by a crackling performance by Germano Lanzoni, also known as Il Milanese Imbruttito, a ‘licensed madman’ who engaged everyone present with his cultured and lashing irony.
The evening then ended with an unexpected performance by the Department Manager Fabio Conti, who turned out to be an exceptional DJ, enjoying great success among people of any age.
Thank you to the sponsors Cefriel, AS.CAR.I, Micro Photon Devices, Cohaerentia, MobiMESH inPiazza, TRE ALTAMIRA, Bcode, DHIRIA, Motus ml, XGLab, to the many people who participated in this extraordinary event, and to all those who, although unable to attend, have given and continue to give their contributions so that DEIB can be the cutting-edge scientific institution it is today!
