Project abstract

RESCHIP4EU (Reinforcing Skills in Chips Design for Europe) aims at supporting the excellence of EU higher education around embedded systems design. This is achieved through the creation of a double-degree master’s programme (ISCED Level 7, 120 ECTS) in Embedded Systems Design, together with a set of self-standing modules that broaden the learning offer and provide flexible training opportunities. The programme combines several technical specializations focused on designing intelligent and efficient embedded platforms, together with a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship to turn technological advances into practical solutions and business opportunities.

The project’s ambition is to train highly skilled engineers who combine deep technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and entrepreneurial thinking. By doing so, RESCHIP4EU will reinforce the competitiveness and sustainability of Europe’s semiconductor and embedded systems ecosystem, directly contributing to Europe’s digital sovereignty and industrial leadership in a strategic technological sector.

The RESCHIP4EU consortium brings together nine higher education institutions from five countries, supported by strong industrial and innovation partners. It is led by EIT Digital, a pan-European organisation with a track record in delivering advanced digital skills education. Politecnico di Milano’s team, led by Prof. Christian Pilato, is responsible for designing and delivering several self-standing modules on hardware design.
