On the occasion of CAiSE 2026 – the International Conference on Advanced Information Systems Engineering, held in Verona from 8 to 12 June 2026, a special session was organized in honour of Prof. Barbara Pernici, from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano.
The session celebrated her valuable, long-lasting and significant contribution to the international scientific community in the field of information systems engineering.
During the event, the volume “Information Systems Engineering: Retrospective and Perspective” was presented, published on the occasion of her retirement. Edited by Cinzia Cappiello, Marco Comuzzi, Massimo Mecella, Pierluigi Plebani and Monica Vitali, the book brings together contributions from numerous researchers who have collaborated with Professor Pernici over the past forty years, bearing witness to her role as a leading figure in research and in the training of new generations of scholars.
