On October 3-4, 2024, Politecnico di Milano will host the meeting of the 3E-Partnership research project, an initiative funded by the European Union aimed at modernizing and strengthening higher education institutions in Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Ukraine.
Organized by the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering under the coordination of Prof. Luigi Piegari, the event will reaffirm the university's pivotal role in addressing global energy challenges through innovative solutions.
The 3E-Partnership project focuses on enhancing energy resilience in the participating countries while fostering greater interregional cooperation. To achieve these ambitious objectives, the initiative is structured around two key pillars.
First, the project prioritizes knowledge generation by co-designing and testing cutting-edge energy efficiency curricula. This effort includes developing core competencies through innovative teaching methodologies and fostering collaboration with non-academic sectors. A cornerstone of this initiative is the creation of new educational pathways, such as bachelor's and master's degree programs, designed to prepare specialized professionals in sustainable energy solutions.
Second, the project emphasizes collaboration and networking among participating institutions. This involves establishing energy laboratories and green networks—dedicated spaces for experimentation, knowledge exchange, and capacity building. Moreover, the initiative seeks to strengthen partnerships between stakeholders from the European Union, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Ukraine. By encouraging international exchanges, the project aims to leverage complementary expertise and promote closer cooperation among all parties involved.
The meeting represents a significant milestone in the development of an international educational network centred on sustainability and innovation. It highlights the critical importance of fostering dialogue and collaboration between academic institutions and strategic partners across diverse regions, laying the foundation for a more resilient and sustainable energy future.
