Lucia Donno received her PhD in Bioengineering in December 2024 from Politecnico di Milano, defending a thesis titled “On the assessment of the knee joint biomechanics and ligament tensions through a tailored musculoskeletal model”. Since November 2025, she has been an Assistant Professor (RTDa) at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB) of Politecnico di Milano, working at the “Luigi Divieti” Posture and Movement Analysis Laboratory and at the “Human Performance Laboratory – E4Sport” at the Lecco Territorial Hub (Polo di Lecco).
Her research interests focus on movement analysis and the implementation of musculoskeletal models for dynamic simulations, primarily for clinical and rehabilitative applications. Moreover, she contributes to the development of innovative technologies to promote the inclusion of children with disabilities in school environments. Lucia is also passionate about applying biomechanics to extreme conditions. Collaborating with NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA), she is part of the scientific team investigating astronaut movement in microgravity. In addition, she conducts biomechanical analyses of athletes, examining their movements during sport-specific actions in ecological settings.
