The first episode of “Noi siamo corrente elettrica - Storie ad alto potenziale” is now available online. The podcast is hosted by Prof. Samuele Grillo from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering – Politecnico di Milano and produced in collaboration with Chora Media.
“We Are Electric Current – High-Potential Stories” is a journey through the history and future of electricity, weaving together the lives of people and technologies that made the electrical system we rely on every day possible. In a rapidly changing world—where the power grid is at the heart of the energy transition—it’s not enough to transform infrastructure; we must transform ourselves. From public scepticism toward pylons to the anxiety of finding a socket at the airport, this podcast explores how we got here and where we can go next, telling high-potential stories that shed light on our present and spark the future.
In the first episode, titled “I dolori del giovane Inverter,” Prof. Grillo explores the weak points of today’s electric system, increasingly populated by power electronic converters. From smart washing machines to electric cars and major blackouts like the one in Italy in 2003 or Texas in 2021, we discover how our everyday choices influence the grid. Because the future of electricity also depends on us.
The first episode is available now on every platform.
