On May 8, 2025, at the headquarters of Milano Serravalle – Milano Tangenziali, the Serravalle Future Drive project was officially presented. This experimental initiative was born from the collaboration between the company and the AIDA – Artificial Intelligence Driving Autonomous team from the Politecnico di Milano, and is dedicated to the development and testing of autonomous driving technologies in real-world scenarios.
At the heart of the project is a self-driving Fiat 500e, equipped with a robo-driver developed by the Politecnico di Milano, made possible through the advancement of artificial intelligence algorithms.
The vehicle performed a real-time demonstration on a public road open to traffic along a strategic route connecting the Famagosta M2 metro station to the A7 motorway entrance in the Cantalupa area, showcasing the integration between urban and motorway networks.
The goal of the experiment is to assess the feasibility of a sustainable, shared, and multimodal autonomous shuttle service capable of linking strategic hubs to major public transport networks, thereby contributing to the reduction of urban congestion and the optimization of existing infrastructure.
The project is part of the national program MOST – National Center for Sustainable Mobility, and represents a concrete step toward increasingly intelligent, interconnected, and accessible mobility.
