
The start-up IONION, founded by Luca Cassano and Elia Lazzeri from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering – Politecnico di Milano, together with Gianluca Furano from the European Space Agency, has been selected for the ESA Business Incubation Centre. This initiative, promoted by the European Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency, is supported by the Lombardy Region.
Managed by PoliHub in collaboration with the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology – Politecnico di Milano and Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, the program supports European start-ups in the Space Tech sector by offering a two-year incubation path. During this period, IONION will receive personalized support, mentorship, access to experts and technical partners, as well as state-of-the-art facilities to develop its projects. The company will also have funding opportunities and connections with investors to accelerate its growth.
Specialized in the development of secure, high-performance processors based on RISC-V technology, IONION aims to revolutionize the semiconductor industry with customizable and resilient solutions applicable to aerospace, automotive, IoT, and critical infrastructures.
