Arianna Adelaide Maurina, a student in the Ph.D. program in Information Technology at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering of the Politecnico di Milano, was awarded the Marisa Bellisario Prize. The award ceremony took place Thursday, June 15, in Rome at RAI studios Fabrizio Frizzi and was broadcast on Rai 1 on Saturday, June 17.
Now in its 35th year, the prize – also known as the Golden Apple – was established in 1989 by the Marisa Bellisario Foundation and is awarded annually to women who distinguish themselves in work, management, science, business, social activism, culture and information, entertainment and sports, both nationally and internationally.
Arianna Adelaide Maurina was awarded along with two other brilliant recent graduates with top marks chosen among candidates from more than forty Italian universities and selected by three major companies – Leonardo, Terna and Ferrovie dello Stato – engaged in a rigorous selection process.
