MARA TANELLI AND MARISTELLA MATERA AT THE COMPUTER ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS FESTIVAL

Prof. Mara Tanelli and Prof. Maristella Matera of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering of the Politecnico di Milano participated as speakers in the Computer Engineers Without Borders International Festival which took place in Rovereto, Italy, from October 20 to 22, 2022. The social innovation event, this year at its 7th edition, addressed crucial topics related to the impact of innovation on society and its development, with a focus on digital transformation and environmental and social sustainability.

Prof. Mara Tanelli gave a talk entitled "ICT for mobility: not only for the sake of safety and performance, but also for the sake of inclusion and social justice", in which she underlined how the design of inclusive technological solutions attentive to diversity is one of the keys to support the spread and success of the new models of sustainable mobility that we need to face the challenges of the ecological and energy transition.

Prof. Maristella Matera spoke on the topic "Designing for inclusiveness: challenges and opportunities", illustrating the characteristics of Inclusive Design, a new approach to the design of digital systems that focuses on the user and is receiving more and more interest in academia and industry.
