Abstract
Maurizio Magarini and his research team were awarded during the “Third International Balkan Conference on Communications and Networking (BalkanCom 2019)”, which was held at Skopje, North Macedonia, from 10 to 12 June, 2019. The international conference BalkanCom focused on networking and communications for 5G and beyond.
Theteamwas awarded with:
- a Best Paper Award for the paper “On the Extension of LTE and LTE-A PRACH Receiver Design to 5G New Radio” - Francesco Linsalata (Politecnico di Milano, Italy); Maurizio Magarini (Politecnico di Milano, Italy); Riccardo Ferrari (Azcom Technology, Italy). The work is about Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH), considering an LTE and LTE-A network system, that improves the performance of the classical approaches. Possible extension to 5G has been addressed.
- a Best Student Paper Award for the paper “Design of DGT-based Linear Receivers for GFDM Transmission in Broadband Channels” - Francesco Linsalata (Politecnico di Milano, Italy); Maurizio Magarini (Politecnico di Milano, Italy); Atul Kumar (Technische Universität Dresden, Germany). The work is about Generalized Frequency Division Multiplexing (GFDM) waveform for the physical layer of next generation wireless networks.
