On June 7th, 2019, students and teachers of the finalist schools from all over Italy came to the Politecnico di Milano for the awarding ceremony of the Policultura Project, the largest collaborative digital storytelling competition for schools in the world.
Thanks to Policultura, students and teachers from schools throughout Italy create interactive narratives with audio, video, images and text thanks to an "authoriring tool" (1001stories) developed by the HOC-LAB of the Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria of the Politecnico di Milano and made available to schools.
328 classes entered the 2019 edition, with 106 delivering their work on time and producing and over 44 hours of “narratives”. In total, approximately 2,400 students and 217 teachers from 16 Italian regions took part.
The 26 finalists and winners tackled many “polytechnic” themes, including the environment, coding, women in science and, of course, Leonardo da Vinci. All the multimedia narratives are available on the PoliCultura website.
