Stefano Ceri and Luca Nanni, thanks also to the significant contributions of Pietro Pinoli and Arif Canakoglu, won the Amazon Machine Learning Research Awards with their proposal “Data-driven Machine and Deep Learning for Genomics”.
The AWS Machine Learning Research Awards (MLRA) program funds novel research in machine learning (ML) (https://aws.amazon.com/it/aws-ml-research-awards/).
The group received 50K $ cash funding as well as 100K $ AWS Promotional Credits for research on an architecture for bridging genomic data management and data extraction to machine learning and deep learning, with application to studying the 3D structure of the genome.
