DEIB students ranked 2nd place at RecSys Challenge 2018

Abstract
Team Creamy Fireflies of System Architectures research group of DEIB - Polimi ranked 2nd place in the creative track of the RecSys Challenge 2018 held by Spotify over more than 100 teams from all over the world. The team, composed by Sebastiano Antenucci, Ervin Dervishaj, Emanuele Chioso, Simone Boglio, Shuwen Kang, Tommaso Scarlatti and Maurizio Ferrari Dacrema, presented their paper at the challenge, during 12th ACM Recommender Systems Conference held in Vancouver from October 2nd to 7th, 2018.
The ACM Recommender Systems conference (RecSys) is the premier international forum for the presentation of new research results, systems and techniques in the broad field of recommender systems. Recommender systems are an information filtering tool whose aim is to help the user by guiding the exploration of vast catalogues of information, products and news available in this age of information and booming e-commerce. The suggestions received by the user will be personalized based upon the way in which he/she interacted with the system in the past, preferences and other personal characteristics
