During the IEEE VTC Fall 2025 conference held in Chengdu, China, Prof. Giambattista Gruosso from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering – Politecnico di Milano was elected Executive Vice President of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) for 2026.
The IEEE VTS is one of the most prestigious technical societies within the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), with over 10,000 members worldwide. It represents three key areas of innovation in the vehicular sector: mobile wireless communications, intelligent and connected vehicles, and terrestrial transportation systems.
Prof. Gruosso’s election represents a highly prestigious international recognition, marking the first time an Italian researcher has held this prominent position within the society. The appointment acknowledges his dedication to the scientific community focused on vehicle electrification and sustainable mobility.
Prof. Gruosso also leads SimLab 4.0, a laboratory at Politecnico di Milano dedicated to advanced research on smart mobility, transport electrification, and the integration of ICT technologies into vehicular systems, actively contributing to the development of innovative solutions for the future of mobility.
