Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, students in Sondrio will have the opportunity to enroll in the online Bachelor's Degree programme in Computer Science & Engineering offered by the Politecnico di Milano, with the added benefit of in-person tutoring. At the Valtellina Agency for Promotion and Training (Azienda di Promozione e Formazione della Valtellina), students will be able to access the online course lectures along with targeted in-person tutoring support for practical exercises. This initiative aims to expand the region's educational and cultural offerings, providing a concrete alternative for young people who wish to pursue a university degree without the need to relocate—thus avoiding the significant housing and living expenses that have risen considerably in recent years.

The programme will be delivered in a hybrid format: a combination of in-person practical sessions and remote access to recorded lectures, designed to ensure maximum flexibility and high-quality teaching. This is a three-year first-level degree program, awarding the same qualification as the online and in-person degree programmes offered at Politecnico di Milano campuses. The hybrid model has already been successfully implemented by the Politecnico di Milano in Arezzo and Rome and is currently available exclusively for the online Computer Science & Engineering degree programme. However, since many courses in the first three years are shared across various engineering programs, switching to other engineering tracks or continuing with related Master's degrees is straightforward—especially due to the strong uniformity in the first year and a half of the program.

Students currently in their fourth or fifth year of high school can already register for the entrance exam required for engineering programmes. A minimum score threshold must be met. When registering, candidates interested in attending the practical sessions in Sondrio should select the “Computer Science & Engineering" online degree programme and also contact Pietro Ottolino at the Valtellina Agency for Promotion and Training via email: pietro.ottolino@apfvaltellina.it.
