Professors Nicola Gatti and Marcello Restelli from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering – Politecnico di Milano, have been appointed ELLIS Fellows, while Alberto Marchesi, a researcher in the same department, has received the title of ELLIS Scholar.
ELLIS – the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems – is a pan-European network of excellence on artificial intelligence that focuses on fundamental research, technological innovation and societal impact.
Established in 2018, ELLIS builds upon machine learning as the driver of modern artificial intelligence and aims to secure Europe's sovereignty in this strategic field.
