Abstract
In this talk I will introduce state-of-the-art work in self-driving cars in Nagoya, Japan.
I will briefly introduce some of the projects regarding self-driving vehicles.
Finally, I will end the talk with an introduction to personal mobility vehicles which are necessary to provide last-mile mobility services.
Short Bio
Luis Yoichi Morales got M.Eng. and Ph.D. engineering degrees in 2006 and 2009 from the University of Tsukuba, Japan. He stayed in Tsukuba for half a year as a Postdoctoral researcher. He became a research scientist at the Intelligent Robotics and Communication Laboratories in the Advanced Telecommunication Research Institute (ATR) in Kyoto, Japan where he is still a collaborative researcher. In 2016, he became associate professor at the University of Nagoya where he currently does research. His current research interests include autonomous navigation, spatial cognition, scene understanding and environment modeling. He has more than 65 publications in international journals and conferences and he is a member of the IEEE, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society and the Robotics Society of Japan.
