Alessandra Pedrocchi received the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering from the Politecnico di Milano in 1997 and 2001, respectively. Since June 2008, she is Assistant Professor with tenure at the Department of Electronics Informatics and Bioengineering of the Politecnico di Milano, where she teaches Neuroengineering in the Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering. She is one of the founders of the NeuroEngineering And medical Robotics laboratory (www.nearlab.polimi.it), started in 2008 at the Politecnico di Milano and she is currently responsible of the Neuroengineering section. Her research interest is neuroengineering, including biomechanics in motor control, neurorobotics, design of bioartificial interfaces to in-vitro neurons and new technologies for neurorehabilitation, with a special emphasis on neuroprostheses and the study of the correlation between brain plasticity and functional recovery. She has been the Project Manager of the MUNDUS project (FP7 ICT-2009.7.2) and she is the Politecnico PI for REALNET project (FP7 Obj ICT-2009.6) and of the ERASMUS MUNDUS Program “European MSc in Advanced Rehabilitation Technologies” 8(527790-LLP-1-2012-1-UK-ERASMUS-EMCR). She has authored about 50 peer reviewed articles published in journal indexed by Database Scopus /Isi Web of Knowledge, with an overall H-index =9 (nov 2013).
