Rodolfo Alvizu is currently a Post Doctorate researcher in the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering in Politecnico di Milano, Italy.
He received the B.Sc. degree in Telecommunications Engineering in October 2008 from Universidad Experimental de la fuerza Armada Nacional (UNEFA) in Maracay (Venezuela), discussing a thesis entitled "Assessment of Resource Allocation mechanisms to provide Quality of Service in Optical Burst Switching Networks" under supervision of Prof. Mónica Karel Huerta (Simon Bolivar University).
In October 2011 he obtained the M.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering from Simon Bolivar University in Caracas (Venezuela) with the thesis entitled "Performance assessment of metro-access network interfacing nodes", supervised by Prof. Mónica Karel Huerta (Simon Bolivar University) and Prof. Idelfonso Tafur Monroy (Technical University of Denmark).
During his master studies Rodolfo did a 6 month research period in the Department of Photonics Engineering, form the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), in Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark.
From January 2012 he became assistant professor of Electronics and Circuits Department from Simon Bolivar University in Caracas (Venezuela), where he is member of the Group of Applied Networks and Telematic (GRETA).
In November 2013 Rodolfo started the Ph.D program in Information technologies (in the Telecommunication area) at the Politecnico di Milano in Milan (Italy), where he become part of the Broadband Optical Networks, Security, and Advanced Internet (BONSAI) Group, under the supervision of Prof. Guido Maier.
His current research interests are related to software defined networking (SDN), network orchestration, optical networks, multipath routing, and time-aware dynamic network operations.
