Mirko Gelsomini is a PhD Student at DEIB, the Department of Electronics and Information and Bioengineering of Politecnico di Milano. He has a Degree with honors in Computer Science and Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. His main research interests focus on innovative interactive technologies for children with special needs.
Since he became a researcher, Mirko has designed, developed and evaluated new technological solutions with the combination of Touchless Interfaces, Robots, Tangible Smart Objects, Tablet applications, Multisensory Environment, and Multimedia Interactive Storytelling for children. He also worked as International Researcher during his Master Thesis project at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2013.
Both researches presented him the opportunity to publish some papers to International Conferences of: Interaction Design and Children (IDC), Advanced Visual Interfaces (AVI), Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI) and many others.
Beside his regular curriculum, he was a developer for different interactive applications installed in Expo 2015, an ambassador for EF Education First (2008 - 2011), a project manager for a (n.d.a.) in Milan (2008-2011) and an IT Consultant for an (n.d.a.) Company.
