She was born in Milan in 1986. She made her bachelor in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and she graduated cum laude in 2008. In her thesis, she analyzed the motion of a human body with a 3D optoelectronic system. In 2010 she received her master degree, cum laude, in Electronic Engineering defending the thesis “Design of an Integrated Circuit for Fast-Gating and Active Quenching of a Single Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD)”. In 2010 she interned in the Biochemistry Dept. of UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles), and collaborated to a research project studying high throughput Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy with Single Photon Avalanche Diodes arrays. She enrolled the PHD program in Electronic Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2011. Her present research activity falls within the European Project FP7 MiSPIA, and it aims at designing a SPAD array for 3D imaging with direct time of flight method.
