Elisabetta Sciacca is a Marie Curie SoE fellow at Politecnico di Milano, Adjunct Professor of Fundamentals of Bioinformatics at University of Catania and member of the Bioinformatics Italian Society (BITS).
She graduated in Telecommunications Engineering in 2016 at University of Catania with a thesis on Body Area Networks for e-health monitoring.
In 2021 she completed her PhD Europeaus in Complex Systems for Life Sciences from University of Catania in collaboration with Queen Mary University of London, where she subsequently completed a five-year post-doctoral period specialising in computational methods for biomedical data.
In 2024, she joined Humanitas University, where she contributed to the development of federated learning algorithms to identify molecular signatures of multi-drug resistant rheumatoid arthritis. From June 2026, she joined the Bioengineering Department of Politecnico di Milano for a Marie Curie SoE fellowship on the application of higher-order complex networks to omic data.
