Elisa Michiels is a PhD student in the joint Politecnico di Milano - JRC Collaborative Doctoral Partnership programme "Science, Technology and Policy for Sustainable Change" (41st cycle). She received her Master’s degree in Bioscience Engineering (Environmental Sciences) from UCLouvain, Belgium. Her research explores socio-economic cascades triggered by climate tipping points—such as glacier retreat, monsoon shifts, and sea-level rise—to quantify impacts across agriculture, energy, and water sectors and develop equitable adaptation pathways.
