Person details

Edoardo Pasta received the B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in 2018 and the M.Sc. in Mechatronic Engineering cum laude in 2020 from Politecnico di Torino, Italy. He obtained the Ph.D. degree cum laude from Politecnico di Torino in 2024. From 2020 to 2026, he conducted his research at the Marine Offshore Renewable Energy Lab of Politecnico di Torino, focusing on predictive control, system identification, and experimental validation of wave energy converters. In 2024, he was appointed Junior Assistant Professor at Politecnico di Torino. Since 2024, he has also served as Lecturer at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). In 2026, he joined Politecnico di Milano as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering.
He has been a visiting researcher at San Diego State University (USA) in 2020, at Maynooth University (Ireland) in 2021-2022, and at Oregon State University (USA) in 2023. In 2022, he was co-recipient of the Best Paper Award at the IFAC CAMS 2022 Conference.
His research interests include model predictive control, system identification, data-driven control, and control co-design, with particular emphasis on applications in offshore renewable energy systems.
