Research Line:
Manuela Galli has a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (July 1991) and has obtained a PhD degree in Applied Mechanics (Biomechanics) in 1996 with a PhD thesis in the field of multifactorial movement analysis for clinical applications. At present she is Full Professor at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering of the Politecnico di Milano and teacher of "Laboratory of Functional evaluation" and "Functional Evaluation" in the course of Biomedical Engineering.
She is responsible of " Posture and Movement Analysis Laboratory "Luigi Divieti" of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering of the Politecnico di Milano. She is author of several scientific works published with an international peer review process, in the field of the movement analysis for clinical/rehabilitative applications.
She is often present to international movement analysis courses and seminars as invited speakers.
Skills: Top level knowledge of 3D multifactorial movement analysis equipments. Protocols definition and data analysis for clinical applications of Motion analysis according to EU standard (in 2006 she obtained the “Gait Lab Peer review” by ESMAC). She obtained an Award about the application of movement analysis in clinics -"Wisniesky Memorial paper Award"(2012) "Movement and Gait analysis between cognitive and biomechanical approach to study and support developmental disabilities" IASSID Word conference, 11 July 2012, Halifax (Canada).
