I am a senior assistant professor (RTDb) at the Politecnico di Milano, Italy.
I specialize in human-computer interaction, information retrieval, and creativity.
My current research interests include the design of human-centered AI systems to empower humans in a variety of ubiquitous, social, and collaborative settings.
Before joining the Politecnico di Milano, I have been affiliated with the University of Palermo, Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT, University of Helsinki, and Aalto University. I have also collaborated with the Human-Computer Interaction Institute of Carnegie Mellon University as a visiting research scholar. I am an ACM Senior Member.
I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Palermo.
