Araavind is a PhD candidate pursuing a double degree from LUT University, Finland, and Politecnico di Milano, Italy, executing the thesis: “Prosumer decision-making in a carbon-neutral society”. Araavind hails from India, obtaining Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, India and Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. With a research focus on residential demand response and consumer decision-making in the electricity market, Araavind has developed advanced models to optimize energy flexibility and enhance renewable integration.
Building on a solid foundation in energy market analysis, Araavind combines academic rigor with practical experience, having worked on operational and financial modeling for battery storage integration with hydropower plants. Araavind has expertise in using machine learning to predict electricity prices, refined during a master’s thesis at Fortum, Sweden. Fluent in several programming languages, including Python and GAMS, Araavind is passionate about driving sustainable solutions in the energy sector and is eager to make a lasting impact through innovative energy strategies.
