Michela Francesconi is a PhD candidate in Bioengineering at the Politecnico di Milano. She earned her MSc in Bioinformatics for Computational Genomics from the Politecnico di Milano and the University of Milan, and her BSc in Biology from the University of Milan-Bicocca. Her doctoral research, conducted in collaboration with Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori of Milan, focuses on the integration of multi-omic data in patients with non-small cell lung cancer who are being treated with immunotherapy. Her research will lead to the development of machine learning models that integrate multi-omic features and their interactions, while explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) methods will ensure clinical interpretability and feasibility.
