ACM-W: supporting, celebrating and supporting women in computer science
March 12th, 2020
Abstract
Micol Spitale, ph.D student at i3Lab under prof. Franca Garzotto and, currently, a research intern at the USC in Los Angeles, obtained the scholarship entitled "ACM-W: supporting, celebrating and supporting women in computer science" to participate in CHI2020.
ACM-W supports, celebrates and supports internationally the full commitment of women in all areas of IT, providing a wide range of programs and services to ACM members and working in the wider community to promote the contributions of technical women. ACM-W provides support to women undergraduates and Computer Science graduates and related programs to participate in research conferences. This exposure to the world of computer science research can encourage a student to move on to the next level (Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, Ph.D. in an industrial or academic position).
