Abstract
Participation by prof. Marino Gatto at TG Sky 24 on the emergency in Venice. The professor points out that among the contributing factors of the phenomenon there is the climate variability generated by global warming. The increase in the extraordinary tides that have affected Venice over the last ten years are coupled with exceptional heat waves, snowfalls, winds and all the extreme events we are witnessing. Marino Gatto is Full Professor of Ecology at Politecnico di Milano. He has a 30+ years experience in the field of populations ecology and impacts of climate change therein. He is author/coauthor of 130+ publications on peer reviewed journals, and of several monographies. He is active in the field of dissemination of climate change.
