During the European Biomechanics Conference (ESB), held in Vienna from 7 to 10 July 2019, Alessandro Caimi, PhD student in Bioengineering, was awarded the Global Materialize Mimics Innovation Award for the work entitled “Prediction of stenting related adverse events through patient-specific finite element modeling ".

The European Society of Biomechanics was founded in 1976 with the goal to encourage research, disseminate knowledge and promote progress in Biomechanics. It is now the largest Biomechanics society in Europe with over 1000 members.
