Maria Prandini elected President of IFAC for 2026–2029

Prof. Maria Prandini from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano has been elected President of IFAC – the International Federation of Automatic Control for the 2026–2029 term.

The election took place on 24 August 2026 in Busan, South Korea, during the Federation’s General Assembly, held on the occasion of the IFAC World Congress.

Founded in 1957, the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) is a leading international organization promoting research, education and applications in the field of automation and control systems. It brings together the global scientific and professional community in the field, fostering international collaboration and the dissemination of knowledge through congresses, conferences, technical committees, scientific publications and awards.

Prof. Prandini’s election as IFAC President represents an important recognition of her scientific contribution and of the role she has played within the international automatic control community.
