The AIRLab team from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering - Politecnico di Milano has secured third place in the prestigious international competition The MOSTLY AI Prize, dedicated to developing cutting-edge generative models for creating synthetic datasets.
The competition, which saw the participation of teams from around the world, presented a particularly complex challenge: developing synthetic sequential datasets that met extremely stringent constraints in terms of information quality and privacy preservation compared to the real data used for training the generative models.
The team, led by research fellow Eugenio Lomurno, demonstrated technical excellence and methodological innovation, positioning itself at the top of the international competition.
The challenge required not only advanced skills in machine learning and artificial intelligence, but also a deep understanding of privacy-preserving techniques and synthetic data generation, rapidly growing sectors in both research and industrial applications.
This result testifies to the quality of research conducted at AIRLab and confirms Politecnico di Milano's position of excellence in the international landscape of artificial intelligence and more specifically in generative deep learning.
