Flaminia Fruzzetti, a Ph.D. student in Bioengineering, has been awarded the Best Oral Presentation Award at the XI Congress of the National Group of Bioengineering – GNB 2025 held in Palermo, Italy, from June 16 to 18, 2025.
Her winning presentation, "Leveraging Osmotic Shock to Enhance Intracellular Nanoparticle Delivery," showcases an innovative approach to improving the intracellular trafficking of nanoparticles. The research, supervised by Dr. Nina Bono from the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, offers promising advancements in the field of targeted drug delivery and nanomedicine.
Dr. Fruzzetti carries out her research at the BraiNs Lab (JRC "NEUROTECH"), under the joint supervision of Prof. Gabriele Candiani (Politecnico di Milano) and Dr. Stefania Marcuzzo (IRCCS Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta). Her interdisciplinary work bridges bioengineering and neuroscience, with the potential to significantly impact therapeutic strategies for neurological disorders.
