The PoliMOVE-MSU team, led by Prof. Sergio Matteo Savaresi and result of a two-year agreement between the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, Politecnico di Milano and the Michigan State University, won first place in the Simulation Race 2024 of the Indy Autonomous Challenge.
The competition took place on January 11, 2024, in Las Vegas at CES, the Consumer Technology Association's annual convention. During the event, the team also officially unveiled its new car: a fully automated Dallara AV-24.
The Indy Autonomous Challenge officially launched in 2019 and brings together academic institutions and public-private partnerships to challenge university students from across the globe to invent and test a new generation of automated vehicle software — including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) — to operate fully autonomous race cars.
