Jessica Leoni, a researcher from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering of the Politecnico di Milano and Ph.D. in Data Analytics and Decision Sciences, has won the IEEE ITS Italian Chapter’s Best PhD Dissertation Award.
The award was given to her for her Ph.D. dissertation titled A Machine Learning-Based Framework for Automatic and Interpretable Health and Usage Monitoring of Safety-Critical Air and Ground Vehicles.
The Best PhD Dissertation Award is given by the Italian Chapter of the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society to the best doctoral dissertation in any area relevant to ITS that is innovative and relevant from an application point of view. The award is established to encourage doctoral research that combines theory and applications, makes in-depth technical contributions, and/or is interdisciplinary in nature, having the potential to contribute to the ITS area and broaden its scope from a methodological point of view or with respect to application perspectives.
