Lorenzo Gianquintieri, research assistant at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering of the Politecnico di Milano, was awarded the first prize of the 2022 edition of the Valutare Premia competition for the doctoral thesis “Development of Health Geomatics Solutions for Data Science in Emergency Medical Services”.
Gianquintieri’s thesis, written under the supervision of Prof. Enrico Caiani from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering and Prof. Maria Antonia Brovelli from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, represents the “stepping stone” of a new research line that the Politecnico di Milano is developing in the field of public health, environment and analysis of geo-localized data.
The Valutare Premia competition, now at its fourth edition, was established by Regione Lombardia to reward master’s degree theses and Ph.D. theses aimed at the analysis and evaluation of current public policies on a regional basis. Gianquintieri will present his work on November 17th in the session of the Joint Control and Evaluation Committee to be held at Palazzo Pirelli in Milan, seat of the Lombardy Regional Council. The thesis will subsequently be published on the Council’s website and, in December, an award ceremony will follow in Palazzo Pirelli’s Council Chamber.
