Before the Academic Senate and the Board of Governors, the Politecnico di Milano Rector Ferruccio Resta presented the Emeritus and Honorary Professor appointment decrees to those awarded in 2020 and 2021. Marino Gatto and Roberto Negrini of the Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria are among the lecturers who have been appointed Emeritus Professors.
This is the highest academic degree at national and international level, the final recognition of a scientific and university career of particular and recognized prestige. Established by Royal Decree on August 31, 1933, the title is conferred by the Ministry "only to deserving and well-known professors who wish to continue teaching and research after reaching retirement age".
